The stone plate shows that the temple was built under the leadership of Chandra Shekhar Shingh, an influencing Minister of King Jagat Prakash Malla. The temple was destroyed in it upper part in the 1990BS earthquake. The temple still has its original structure at its bottom.
भक्तपुरका तत्कालीन राजा जगत प्रकाश मल्लको राज्यकालमा प्रभावशाली मन्त्री चन्द्र शेखर सिंहको अगुवाईमा यस मन्दिरको निर्माण भएको प्रमाण यहास्थित शिलापत्रले दिन्छ । वि.सं. १९९० सालको भूकम्पपछि मन्दिरको माथिल्लो भाग भत्किएको थियो । मन्दिरको पेटी तह पुरानै स्वरुपमा देखिन्छ ।
