This temple, which is made in the design with two stories of thatched terracotta roofs, must have had a different architecture. While constructing four holi shrines in Bhaktapur in memory of a departed woman who lost her life in NS 593, Dwarika Nath temple was bult here. But, due to disasters like earthquake damaged the temple, King Ranajit Malla got a temple built in the style of today. The image inside the temple is Krishna with Rukmani. The temple is further decorated with gold Molamba and torans of the ten divine incarnations and other deities. Other attractions of the temple are artistic window and doors and a pillar with Garuda in front of the main gate of the temple.
दुईतल्ले झिंगटीको छाना भएको यो मन्दिर शुरुमा अर्कै शैलीमा निर्माण भएको हुनुपर्छ । ने.स. ५९३ मा एक दिवंगत महिलाको सम्झनामा भक्तपुर लायकुमा चारधाम स्थापना गर्ने क्रममा द्धारिकानाथ मन्दिरको पनि स्थापना भएकोमा भुकम्प लगायतले क्षति भएपछि पुरानो मन्दिरको ठाउँमा ने.स. ८४७ मा रणजीत मल्लले वर्तमान शैलीको मन्दिर निर्माण गर्न लगाएको हो । यहाँ रुकमणी सहितको कृष्णको आकर्षक मुर्ति छ । सुनको मोलम्बा सहितको दशवतार लगायत अन्य देवदेवीका मुर्तिहरुले सजिएको कलात्मक टुँडालहरु ,काठको कलात्मक झ्याल तथा ढोकाहरु र गरुड स्तम्भका मुख्य सम्पदाहरु यस मन्दिरको आकर्षण हुन् ।
