King Jitamitra Malla got this temple constructed in the middle of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It takes the shape of Krishna Mandir of Patan. Among the trio Vatsala temples of Bhaktapur Durbar Area, this temple is famous as Nritya Vatsala. It is famous for stone art as well. The temple which has been repaired, and renovated for a number of times, ruined entirely in the April 2015 earthquake. Bhaktapur Municipality has been reconstructing this temple.
भक्तपुर दरवार क्षेत्रको मध्य भागमा रहेको कृष्ण मन्दिर शैलीको ढुङ्गाले बनेको यो मन्दिरको निर्माण ने.स.७९८ मा राजा जितामित्र मल्लले गरेको हो । भक्तपुर दरवार क्षेत्र त्रिवत्सला मध्ये नृत्यवत्सलाको रुपमा प्रख्यात छ । ढुङ्गाको अति राम्रा कला कृतिहरुको लागि यो मन्दिर प्रख्यात छ । पटक पटक जिर्णोद्धार हुंदै आएको यो मन्दिर २०७२ बैशाख १२ गतेको भुकम्पले पूर्ण क्षती भएको थियो । जसको हाल पुनःनिर्माण कार्य हुंदैछ ।
