Mahakali Entrance Gate is the northern gate to Bhaktapur. There is a pond on this way in at Bholachhen known as Bholachhen Pukhu. It was once known as Bhaulwa Pukhu. It is said that Bholachhen Pukhu was there before Bhaktapur town was forming. According to an anecdote, this pond was formed when a group of mice and cats had a fight and cats were seriously injured. The pond is 100 ft long and 60 ft wide.
भक्तपुर नगरको उत्तरी प्रवेशद्वार महाकाली ध्वाखा हो । यही बाटो हुँदै नगर प्रवेश गर्दा भोलाछेंमा भोलाछें पुखु पर्छ । भोलाछें पुखुलाई पहिला भौल्वा पुखु भनिन्थ्यो । भक्तपुर नगर बन्नुअघि नै यो पोखरी बनिसकेको जनविश्वास छ । किम्बदन्ती अनुसार मुसा र बिरालोबीच झगडा पर्दा यो पोखरी बनेको थियो । मुसाको बथान मिलेर बिरालोलाई घाइते बनाएको थियो । यो पोखरीको लम्बाइ १ सय फीट र चौडाइ ६० फिट छ ।
