This chowk lies on the east of Mool Chowk. The name Bhairav Chowk is thus given as it consists of 18 artistic images of Lord Bhairav. Once, King Sadashiva of Kantipur sought a refuge in this chowk and it is therefore called Sadashiva Chowk. At the center of the chowk there lies an image of Barahi. No other chowks have such an idol in the center.
भक्तपुर तलेजु चोक ९९ चोकमध्ये मूलचोकको पूर्व पट्टी रहेको एक महत्वपूर्ण चोक हो । चोकभित्र १८ भैरवका अति कलात्मक मूर्तिहरु स्थापना गरिएको हुँदा यो चोकको नाम भैरव चोक रहेको मानिन्छ । त्यसो त एक ताका कान्तिपुरबाट शरणमा आएका राजा सदाशिव मल्ललाई नजरबन्द गरेको चोक भएर सदाशिव चोक पनि कहलिएको छ । चोकको मध्य भागमा बाराहीको मुर्ति पछि मात्र अन्य ठाउँबाट यहाँ स्थापना भएको देखिन्छ । प्रस्तर कला, चित्रकला एवम् काष्ठकलाले यो चोक अति महत्वपूर्ण छ ।
