Bekwo Chowk is one of the significant heritages located in Taleju premises of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This Chowk can be reached via world famous Golden Gate and through Jamdar Chowk. The shape of the chowk is somehow non-straight and thus the naming goes. ‘Bekwo’ in local tongue means ‘not straight. Within this chowk at the entrance of Bhairav Chowk on either side, are the statues of King Jagat Prakash Malla and his Minister Chandra Shekhar Singh. Every year during the Nepalese great Festival of Vijaya Dashami, on the occasion of the festival of Khadga locally known as Payo Nhyakegu, an interesting conversation takes place between a leader from Chaguthi family as the visitor from Simraungadh, and a Bramhan (a Hindu Priest) as a representative of the Goddess Taleju Bhawani.
भक्तपुर तलेजु परिसरभित्रका एक महत्वपूर्ण सम्पदामा बेक्वो चोक पनि एक हो । विश्व प्रसिद्ध स्वर्णद्धारबाट जमदार चोक हुंदै यो चोकमा पुग्न सकिन्छ । बांगो आकारको चोक भएको कारण चोकको नामाकरण नै बेक्वो चोक अर्थात बांगो चोक भएको मानिन्छ । यहाँ भैरव चोक पस्ने द्धारको दायाँबायाँ जगतप्रकाश मल्ल र उनका मन्त्री चन्द्रशेखर सिंहको सालिक रहेको छ । यो चोकमा बर्षेनी मोहनी(दशैं) को विजयादशमीको मध्य रातमा पायो न्ह्याकेगु(खडगजात्रा) को क्रममा सिम्रौनगढबाट तलेजु भवानी दर्शन गर्न आएका भक्तजनको रुपमा चगुठी नायो र तलेजु भवानीको प्रतिनिधीको रुपमा ब्राम्हणबिचको संवाद अत्यन्त रोचक ढंगले प्रस्तुुत गर्ने परम्परा छ ।
